In this article, I’m going to do a very honest Nexstand K2 vs K7 comparison in detail, after testing both products. My goal is to give you an accurate view of these two laptop stands so that you can make the best buying decision.
I will compare the two products head to head in categories like looks, portability, adjustability, and ease of use.
In the end, I will share which stand gets you the most for your money, and then my recommendation on which one I think you should buy.

Looks
Both the Nexstand K2 and Nexstand K7 are black and made mostly of plastic. I think they look a bit cheap and maybe even non-professional, but that’s something I don’t think matters that much for most people.
I don’t think it’s a game changer and something that would make me consider another stand over these two.
If you want a laptop stand with a more aesthetically pleasing look with high-quality materials, then consider buying another stand.
I put the Nexstand K2 above the Nexstand K7 in looks because of the metal “stick” that you can see on the Nexstand K7 when it’s in use which I think looks bad.
The Nexstand K2 has better fashion to me since it’s all one color and looks more clean.

Portability
The portability of both stands is very good since they can both be folded and take minimal space.
The two stands are perfect for bringing in your hand or in a bag because they are lightweight and a slim shape when folded.
With the Nexstand K2 AND the Nexstand K7, you get a little bag to put your folded stand in so that it doesn’t unfold when not in use.
Nexstand has certainly prioritized portability with these two laptop stands.
The Nexstand K7 is slightly lighter and smaller than the Nexstand K2 though, which is the reason it is on top in this category.

Adjustability
In this category, you will see a clear winner I can tell you. That’s because the Nexstand K7 isn’t adjustable at all.
The Nexstand K2 on the other hand has eight different heights, starting from about the height of the Nexstand K7 up to taller than most monitors (shown below). Taller than my monitor at least.
Out of all the Nexstand stands, the Nexstand K2 is kind of the mid-height option, since there are other stands like the Nexstand K1 that can be adjusted even taller.
But most people don’t need a taller setting than what the Nexstand K2 has to offer.
You may think it’s really bad that the Nexstand K7 doesn’t have any adjustability options, but then you should also keep in mind its low price relative to the Nexstand K2.

Ease of use
Setting up both the Nexstand K2 and Nexstand K7 went close to as smooth as butter.
With the Nexstand K7 the process is extremely simple, for the reason that you basically only have to unfold the stand and then place your laptop on it.
The Nexstand K2 setup process is slightly more complicated because you have to adjust both legs of the stand separately.
It may be hard to find the matching height for the legs in the beginning but it shouldn’t be a major problem.
To the Nexstand K2 you get two spacer clips that you put in the two “grips” of the laptop to make thinner laptops or even tables available for use.
They are not hard to put on, but they can easily be lost which is something that should know before traveling with a thin laptop using this stand.
Lastly, the Nexstand K7’s back legs don’t have any rubber causing it to slide on your desk if you type too hard on your laptop. Something to have in mind before buying if you’re going to write a lot directly on your laptop while it’s on the stand.

Value
By buying the Nexstand K7 you get a simple, easy-to-use, and portable laptop stand that works very well as a first laptop stand and as a remote work buddy.
The main cons with it is that you don’t get any adjustability in height with it and it can be a bit slippy on the desk.
It is cheaper than the Nexstand K2 and many other stands and therefore I think it deserves a 4/5 rating on value.
The Nexstand K2 offers a lot more with an emphasis on adjustability. It isn’t that much more expensive than the Nexstand K7 either, and I think it has all of the Nexstand K7’s features, plus great adjustability.
That is the reason why I crown the Nexstand K2 as one of the most value-for-money laptop stands on the market.

I do think the Nexstand K2 is worth the extra money and that adjustability is one of the key components of a laptop stand which the cheaper, Nexstand K7 doesn’t have.
Despite the Nexstand K2 being a bit more expensive I think it has the best value for money, and I recommend spending a couple of dollars more than the Nexstand K7 costs to get a much better laptop stand.
There’s absolutely no shame in the Nexstand K7, and as I’ve said; it’s the cheaper alternative that works wonders for many people too.
